Whether you’re just discovering aviation or ready to launch a professional flying career, Barcelona Flight School offers three structured helicopter training programs to match your goals. All programs include hands-on flight training on the Robinson R44 — one of the most respected and widely used training helicopters in the world.

The program allows you to complete the theoretical training required for the Airline Transport Pilot License – Helicopter (ATPL-H). If you choose not to continue with the ATPL theoretical course, a transition course to multi-engine helicopters (ME) is available.

Students will begin flying approximately 6 months after the start of the course, and the flight training phase will continue until course completion.

It’s one of the most in-demand career paths in Spain. Operators typically hire pilots with progressively increasing experience for wildfire suppression missions, crew transport (heli-transport), water dropping (Bambi bucket), and emergency support.
It includes operations such as:

These roles typically require more accumulated flight hours and specific certifications, but they represent a clear professional career path.

These roles require selection processes and prior experience, but they are well-recognized career paths.
It includes the transport of critically ill patients using air ambulance helicopters.
